Client Brief

Our client came to us with a clear challenge: to build an app that makes finding and hiring trusted tradespeople simple, safe, and transparent. Homeowners needed a way to post jobs, compare quotes, and manage projects without the usual stress. Builders wanted reliable leads, a way to showcase their work, and an efficient tool to run their jobs.

Our Solution

We designed and built Book a Builder, a mobile app (iOS & Android) that bridges the gap between homeowners and tradespeople. Key features include:

• Job‐posting & matching: Homeowners describe what they need done; the app matches them with local, vetted builders.
  
• Quote comparison & booking: Builders send fixed or hourly quotes; homeowners review options and schedule jobs.
  
• Secure in-app communication & payments: Messaging, photo sharing, and payments are handled entirely within the app, giving both parties peace of mind.
  
• Ratings, portfolios & reviews: Trust is built via profiles, past work photos, and customer feedback.
  
• Project tracking: Homeowners and builders can share updates, agree changes, and monitor progress.
  

What We Delivered

Working closely with the client, we created intuitive UX flows for both homeowner and builder users. We ensured the interface was clean, the experience seamless, and that every interaction, from job posting to final payment, felt reliable and secure.

We built this Book A Builder mobile application in  React Native, so that could deliver one modern app that works seamlessly across both platforms (iOS & Android), keeping development fast and cost-effective.  We utilised Laravel Nova for the admin area, which gave the internal team a powerful yet straightforward way to manage everything behind the scenes. Together, this approach ensures gives a reliable, scalable MVP solution that’s quick to launch and ready to grow.
